HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Great Grandma Nicoll with Dax and Trexton.

What a treat it was for us to have Nate, Jen and the kids show up trick or treating! We enjoyed every minute! and they did too! I couldn't stop laughing when I looked at the boys! All in camo, could only see the whites of their eyes! so cute, they didn't even look human! Steve and I took them over to see Great Grandma Nicoll and she sure loved that! She had her hair in curlers with a black covering so we figure she was decked for Halloween too! Shelbi and Harlee were amazing! I loved your hair color Shelb! Harlee made sure Grampa noticed her tu-tu! They sure made our Halloween so much fun! My cheeks hurt from laughing!

VERMONT

Home Sweet Home
Going to Vermont is always such a treat for me! It's the one place I never tire of. And yes, after all these years it still feels like HOME, regardless of changes and missing loved ones. I stayed with my Aunt Mary and felt right at home in her new apartment. She always makes me feel so loved and comfortable. I was able to "socialize" this time and enjoyed every minute. I ran into people I hadn't seen in over 40 some years, what fun!. And as always, I loved being with my one and only favorite brother, Jim and his family. I also enjoyed Tunbridge Fair and church service on Sunday. Brought back so many memories. Seems like just yesterday that I was singing in the choir there. I especially enjoyed Terry Diers playing and singing "His Eye is on the Sparrow", a very moving and heartfelt rendition.
I didn't do a very good job of getting these pictures in order but here are some of my favorites. Next year I hope to drag my feet a little harder and stay until the colors change! Looking forward to that!
My brother, Jim.

Diane and I took a walk and looked down over North Tunbridge, spotting this Monarch on the way. Reminded me of when all of us kids used to "collect" catapillars and watch them turn into Monarch butterflies. Appropriate I think, as I grew up on Monarch Hill.

Cows out to pasture for the day.

A late fawn, (still spotted) I discovered on a ride to Chelsea. Not a bit scared of me.

So, here's my valiant effort at updating my blog. We've just been having way too much fun with the grandkids so now it's time for me to show you a few pictures of how they add so much joy to my life.
The pictures were taken up on the mountain, past Big Lake. Nate, Jen and their family came up and camped with us. We also were happy that Tim and Tori came up to spend the day. The kids found a horney toad and the rest is history. Also, a few shots of Tim aspiring to be Nathan! (Nate said you did a great job for a first timer, Tim!)

Toooo busy this week!

I am really wanting to post some pictures of Vermont but this has been the craziest, busiest week ever, I honestly don't have time. I keep thinking I'll get caught up on my sleep from the Vermont trip, jet lag and all but haven't yet. And then there was the new baby... now I am up at Scout Camp at Big Lake, trying to stay behind the scenes and help out a little there. Leaving for Flagstaff later this afternoon and then back tomorrow in time to go back up to Big Lake and be there for the campfire tomorrow night. Linde and I are picking Kyron and Kason up in Kingman, as they've been visiting friends and family in Vegas. Aside from that I just felt the uncontrollable need to snuggle little Kali Jett again!!
Nate, Jen and family will be camping with us at Big Lake starting Thursday morning. We are excited about that. I'm loving being outdoors and on the mountain, making the leave and distance from Vermont a little easier to bear, if that's at all possible. I've had some quiet time and have had the peaceful opportunity to know how blessed I am to have the wonderful people in my life that I love. Nature seems to have a way of bringing out the deep sentiments I guess. It's beautiful on the mountain, the little Scout boys are so dang cute and all over the place. It's fun to watch them and takes me back years when Nate, Dan and Tim were scouters. And yes, I miss that. I'll post Vermont pictures next week and give you all and update on the "other love of my life." (VERMONT) ps saw a deer and fairly new little fawn this morning early.

SUGAR AND SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE....

And she sure is everything nice!

Luke and Linde welcomed little Miss Kali Jett Woolf on Monday, July 21st. She weighed 5 lbs. 12 oz. and was 17 3/4 " long. She's a compact little bundle and so darling! (proud Grammie?) She's a month early but doing so great and was able to go home the next day to... Kyron, Kason, Kenzi and Kooper! They all are so proud and think she's the most beautiful baby in the world. Kyron and Kason are sure she looks just like their Mom, Kenzi stands guard and has Kali in her arms constantly! Kooper squeals with delight when he sees her, not really sure yet what she's all about but loves to give her kisses. I was thrilled to be there when she was born! I made it with less than 5 minutes to spare, amazing. Steve would be surprised how fast I can make it to Flagstaff when it concerns a new grandbaby! There really is nothing like a new baby!! I always feel that much closer to heaven when I get to witness such a precious miracle. So, thank you Linde and Luke for sharing this little girl with Grammie. I'm so glad she waited for me to return from Vermont! Love you all!

SNAKES AND SNAILS AND PUPPY DOG TAILS....

Last week we found a snake, played with puppy dogs and here we are this week into snail hunting. Yesterday we had a day that was made just for kids! (and Grammie) First we started with fishing at Nelson Reservoir. For the first time in quite a few years, I now am the proud owner of a $40 fishing license! We didn't have much luck fishing ( I'm not as good at worms and power bait as Uncle Tim but I gave it a valiant effort)After fishing we moved on to "Snail hunting" at Hulsey Lake. Kyron, Kason and Kenzi each found their quota of "pet" snails. We went on a little hike where the boys discovered some rocks to climb so they had a blast doing that. We fished, hiked, laughed, squealed, giggled and finished the excursion with ICE CREAM and PIE at Bear Wallow. What a terrific day! (needless to say, we ALL slept through the entire night! and that includes Grammie!) Kyron and Kason rock climbing.
