THE BRIDGE

I've been promising a post about Steve's recent bridge building project, so here goes...
Below are pictures of the bridge he completed on November 20th. This was a project that has been in the works for the past year and a half. He has been working with the US Forest Service and the local ATV Club. This bridge is 7 feet wide and 50 feet long, weighing about 15,000 pounds. It was prebuilt in his "red barn" (shop) in about 3 days and then loaded on a semi truck, which transported it to the final site.

Yahoo, the bridge is FINISHED!

Two fork lifts were used to lift the bridge.

Loaded and ready for delivery.

A HUNTIN' THEY WENT BUT I HAD MORE FUN!

I'm behind on blogging again... what can I say?? Such a busy life! A few weeks ago I had the wonderful opportunity to tend the kiddos while Jen, Nate and Daniel all went hunting. Chelsee and Cam kept us company too. (Thanks, Chelsee for all the help, I couldn't have done it without you!) We had so much fun! Below are just a few shots of what we accomplished. Bathtime was a hoot, a trip to the mall came off without a hitch, kinda surprised us as between Chelsee and I we had 5 kidlets. We started and ended at the carousel, went into Dillard's to play with ALL 500 of the WEBKINS and of course, a trip to the pet store was so much fun! All three hunters ended up being successful so that made the trip even better. The girls were not even scared of the dead deer. Jen was quite proud that her deer was bigger than Daniel's and that she survived the mountain lion. What a woman!!
Having fun on the carousel at the mall. Dax, Trex, Cam and Grammie.

I love the look on Cam's face, like she's not too sure about what Dax is saying.

Jen's deer was way bigger than Dan's!! Shelbi and Harlee helping show off the racks.
Way to go Jen! We're so glad the mountain lion decided to leave you alone! Going hunting
with Nathan next year???

ONCE THERE WAS A SNOWMAN

We woke up to our first snow on Monday morning! And yep, I'm crazy, I know, but I love it when it snows! It's always more fun when the grandkids are around and I just happened to luck out on this snow day. Kason wanted to have a snowball fight so I took him up on his challenge. (telling him that he was "going down") He got a kick out of that. Kyron, Kason and I had the best snowball fight I've had in years. I don't know which one of us was laughing harder.... but I WON and I think that really surprised them! (Don't think they even imagined that Grammie could run and throw a snowball at the same time) I have to admit, I was a little winded by the time the fun was finished.
What a fun morning. After the snowball fight we made a small snowman on the back porch (complete with my BoSox hat) and then we moved on to bigger things! Kooper wasn't too interested in the snowman but he was happy just wandering around the backyard. Kenzi's job was to make the head and she sure came through for us! Thanks for the funnest time kids! You always brighten my day! And don't forget boys...there are many more snowball fights to come!

FUN IN THE BACKYARD

Just HAD to post a few more pictures of fun with the kids last weekend. Kinda hard to tell who had the most fun, but my vote goes to Gramps!

THE BARNYARD

On Saturday morning Nate, Jen, Shelbi, Harlee, Dax, Trex, Grampa and Grammie spent a little time in the barnyard. The kids had a great time in the chicken pen, with Jen keeping a close eye on the rooster! Steve was not the least bit concerned. Nate informed his Dad that the only reason he and his siblings had grown to adulthood was because MOM had always kept an eye on the "rooster". That made me laugh. The kids all sat and rode on Valentine and Shelbi even hit the ground a little hard. What a tuff girl! Just a few pictures to further prove it doesn't take much but a little horse manure and chicken poop to make a kid happy! (And their grandparents too) So glad they all came and spread the happiness around!Trexton and Dax on Valentine
